A robed figure inside two beaded halos, set against night-blue skies and a field of painted lilies — built up slowly, stitch by stitch.

A small edit of the works collectors return to — faces, irises and eyes, painted in warm yellows and burnt orange.
Each one begins as a page in a sketchbook and ends framed, with the pencil lines still showing.

The studio
Painted, then stitched, one layer at a time
Work begins with drawing — irises from the market, eyes, hands, half-remembered faces. Colour goes down in paint, then thread and beadwork are added on top until the surface has weight you can feel.

Faiqa Rasheed started at her kitchen table
Faiqa began painting for herself — irises from the market, hands, eyes, whatever caught her attention that week. One framed panel made for a friend turned into a second, then a small stack of commissions.
She still draws every piece herself, mixes the colours by eye, and does all of the stitching in the studio.
